Molino Chido

PROJECT INFORMATION

Project Type: Second Gen Restaurant TI

Location: Stanley Marketplace

Square Footage: 3,578 SF

Scope: Full Restaurant Remodel

Challenge/Results:

The interiors of Molino Chido are designed to capture the layered energy of a Mexico City taqueria while working within the reality of a large, open floor plan. The goal was not to fill the space, but to shape it, creating moments of density and movement that feel organic.

On the construction front, achieving that goal led to a strategic redesign of the bar as a central anchor, complemented by custom millwork and sculptural concrete planters that divide the room. Rather than relying on walls, these elements establish natural zones, breaking down scale while maintaining visual connection throughout the restaurant. Each intervention was carefully calibrated to guide flow and create intimacy without disrupting the overall openness.

Materiality does much of the storytelling, so getting the details just right was imperative. Bright tile and custom wallcoverings lend texture and authenticity, keeping Molino Chido’s food at the center of the experience.
